16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
One of the primary purposes of the pastor is to equip the saints to do ministry.
I have recently pondered about what role corporate worship plays in this process.
There is undoubtedly great power in singing true things of the faith. Believers have included music and song in their liturgy for generations.
The power however, is commonly a jumbled blend of emotionalism, mystery, and authentic transformation through the spoken and sung Word, as well as the Holy Spirit.
So how can the church intentionally focus their worship times to equip the saints?
I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts...

Well I think there are a couple things that we can think about in equipping the saints through corporate worship.
First, rooted in true worship is true theology. While we may not be singing the exact words of Scripture, we are still singing about the word of God. For example, while it may not be found in the 66 books, it in no way is not true the Jesus is the remedy. And more than that, those words are found in the Bible, just not in those words. Savvy?
Second, while I don't want to equate worship to a feeling, for lack of a better term, worship brings a "feeling" of being close to God and almost a euphoria with it. When we sing a song that touches me, I want to take that song to the world. And I know that God is there with me. I want everyone to know that Jesus came for the rescue of us all. There is great truth in that. And while I might not be able to tell you exactly what Job 19 says, I can tell you that My redeemer lives.
Those are just a couple thoughts...
